I have had my studio in Vernon Mill , Stockport, since 2000 when they were first established.
Prior to this I taught art in high schools for 25 years.
My approach to painting and the techniques I have used are varied although in recent years I have concentrated mainly on using water colours.
I have exhibited my work throughout the north of England during this time.

Since 2012 I have spent more time in France where I have had the opportunity to work plein air.
I work from my studio in Chez Redon – a small hamlet in the Charente.
I enjoy using the weather and light together with the rural landscapes in my work.
This is reflected in my new website where my work has developed naturally from my experiences there.

Recently I have been working on abstracts but using a technique I have developed using watercolour paints on canvas using a watercolour ground to make work permanent and sealing with a varnish designed to protect watercolours. It has enabled me to work on bigger paintings. This technique has proved very popular

I have continued exhibiting work in Stockport Open Exhibitions and Vernon Mill over recent years but also enjoy clients and people visiting the mill on a regular basis at weekends or during the week .

My studio is set up as a permanent gallery and makes it possible to view a large body of my work - recent and past.
